Apprentice Diesel Mechanic - commencing 2026

Are you passionate about heavy vehicles and looking to start your career in the transport industry?

We’re offering an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Diesel Mechanic to join our supportive Wellington workshop team in early 2026. With hands-on training, expert mentorship, and the backing of our experienced team at Tranzit, you’ll be set on the path to becoming a fully qualified Diesel Mechanic.

We are looking for:

• A motivated self-starter with a positive and can-do attitude.
• A genuine interest in the transport industry and working with heavy vehicles – previous automotive experience or trade training is a bonus.
• A team player with strong communication skills.
• Someone who shows up on time and is ready to learn.
• A clean Class 1 driver’s licence, with the willingness to work toward Class 2 & 4.
• Eagerness to grow, develop your skillset, and contribute to a great team culture.

• A pathway to becoming a fully qualified Level 4 Diesel Mechanic through MITO.
• Competitive Pay rate and tool allowance
• Guaranteed work - 80 hours a fortnight
• Rongotai workshop location
