About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced HVAC Technician to join our team at Auckland Prison. In this role, you will work closely with the Facilities Manager and Trades Operations Supervisor to deliver high-quality maintenance services across the site.

You will be responsible for conducting inspections, managing subcontractors, completing documentation, and ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a secure and structured environment.

  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Performing planned and reactive maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Coordinating subcontractor activities and ensuring compliance.
  • Conducting regular facility inspections and reporting issues.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Participating in emergency response efforts and supporting minor projects.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with KPIs and safety standards.

About You:

  • Trade qualified HVAC Technician with commercial maintenance experience.
  • General understanding of core building services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
  • Comfortable working in a secure environment and passing background checks.
  • Strong commitment to safety, security, and ethical conduct.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Able to work on an on-call roster.
  • Computer literate and able to manage documentation.
  • Site Safe, Working at Heights, and EWP certifications beneficial (training provided if needed).

Environment, Health and Safety is a priority for Cushman & Wakefield and the successful candidate will be expected to have a good understanding of the EHS requirements and behaviours in a commercial environment. Good personal presentation and customer service skills are also essential, as is a clean full driver’s licence.

The successful applicant will be required to undergo a drug test, complete a Pre-employment Health Questionnaire and MOJ check. A criminal conviction review is also a requirement of the role.
