Job Details:

Job Summary: Supervises and coordinates Repair Center Technicians through the evaluation and repair activities of equipment being returned from customers and field sites. Monitors and reports department performance metrics and ensures alignment to Cubic’s KPIs.

Routinely makes decisions pertaining to everyday operational processes and staff in the depot repair area. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority pertaining to supervisory organisation and quality of Cubic products.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyses repair center workload requirements and proposes staffing modifications to upper management as necessary
  • Analyses and prioritises repair center work flow to meet dynamic throughput requirements
  • Sets and adjusts employee work hours, including approving leave requests
  • Ensures depot repair activities are performed in accordance with existing department processes, procedures and standards
  • Evaluates and monitors repair center staff performance, providing training and mentoring as appropriate. Actions include informal and formal performance management
  • Monitors and reports repair activities to meet department performance goals and quality standards
  • Provides quarterly reports on workshop performance according to SLAs
  • Works closely with Cubic engineering groups to review and requisition tools, fixtures and test equipment
  • Provides logistics support between field sites, appropriate company departments, and the customer(s)
  • Works with other departments including Procurement and Engineering to resolve material requirement or shortages issues
  • Interfaces with customers and other Cubic functional departments to perform/resolve product failure analysis
  • Defines and leads repair center equipment monitoring efforts to ensure compliancy to Cubic’s and equipment manufacturer’s calibration, performance and quality standards
  • Leads, participates, and/or assists with repair center training events
  • Participates in various department audit events

  • Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organisations
  • Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures
  • Other duties as requested

Minimum Job Requirements:

Qualifications
  • Qualifications in conducting maintenance planning activities
  • Holder of a Construction White Card (desirable)
  • Relevant teritary qualifications to the role
Skills/Experience/Knowledge
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a high tempo workshop environment
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Must have an understanding of troubleshooting and root cause analysis methodologies with familiarity of electromechanical principles/components and electrical inspection equipment, as well as communications equipment
  • Ability to motivate and upskill others in knowledge of practices and systems
