Job Overview
The Class 2 / 4 Driver role is a vital position in ensuring the smooth operation of our Napier Branch. This role contributes an essential part in the success of the day to day responsibilities within the yard operation and includes ownership of keeping our trucks moving and the stock we are responsible for loaded and delivered in undamaged condition.Please note that this role also involves daily yard responsibilities including loading and unloading trucks when not driving. It is well suited to a team player that is happy helping out in both the yard and out on the road as the demands of the day require.
Responsibilities & Duties- Loading and unloading of trucks and containers as required with trucks to be unloaded ASAP.
- Carry out any packing, wrapping and/or other protective procedures necessary to ensure that goods are delivered in the same condition as when uplifted.
- Uplift, transport and deliver goods as and when instructed within the region.
- Pre-departure daily safety checks.
- Completion of all company records and logs.
- Check the quantity & quality of delivered goods.
- Ensure highest quality housekeeping is maintained at all times.
- Cleaning of machinery as required including checking of oil and water.
- Encourage a “Safety First” approach by ensuring that you understand and adhere to our safety policies, rules and best practices.
- New Zealand Drivers Licence – Class 2 (required) & 4 (preferred)
- Forklift (F) Endorsement preferred (training can be given)
- Dangerous Goods Endorsement with handling experience preferred (training can be given).
