We are looking for experienced 2x curry and tandoori cooks for our Branches in Waikato and Bay of Plenty

Description

Are you an experienced Indian Cook passionate about creating flavourful dishes, including curry and tandoori dishes? We have two busy Indian restaurants in Waikato and Bay of Plenty, and we are currently seeking three experienced and detail-oriented Indian cooks to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of Indian curries and tandoori items in our extensive menu. All roles are permanent with a minimum of 30 guaranteed hours per week.

Location of work: Waikato and Bay of Plenty

Full-time and permanent position: 30 hours per week Wages: $25-26/hr (Negotiable depending on experience)

Job duties:

Performing all the essential food preparation, seasoning and cooking
Responsible to cook varieties of Indian curries and tandoori dishes
Regulating temperatures of cooking equipment during the cooking process
Maintain and ensure food quality at all times
Prepare the gravies and sauces as per the business requirements
Storing food in chiller and freezer as required
Stocktaking and reporting it to the Chef
Assist in developing recipes & present the food
Assist with the serving sizes and quality of meals
Ensure the food is presented, portioned and garnished correctly
Prepare the food as per the request of customers with dietary requirements
Required to check freshness of food & ingredients
Clean and keep the kitchen as required by NZ health standards
Maintaining hygiene at all times

Train other kitchen staff whenever require

Candidate requirements: 2 to 3 years of work experience

Hold knowledge to prepare authentic Indian curry and tandoori cuisines including snacks
Flexibility to work within a 7-Days a week operation including split shifts
Willing to work on weekends
Be able to work in a team and take direction from supervisors
Have good interpersonal and communication skills

Have a can do attitude and good work ethic
