Electrical Dairy Technician - Rangiora
Electrical Dairy Technician
Are you a qualified electrician who enjoys getting hands on with mechanical gear too? Our client is looking for a reliable and practical individual to join their team as an Electrical Dairy Technician, specialising in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of milking machines and related farm equipment.
This role suits someone with a full EWRB electrical licence who doesn’t mind being on the tools, whether that’s fault-finding wiring issues, fixing pumps, or getting stuck into general servicing and repairs.
If you’ve got a background in electrical work and enjoy variety, this could be the perfect fit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair milking machines, pumps, and associated equipment on dairy farms
- Carry out servicing, testing, and compliance checks (training provided in dairy-specific systems)
- Use your electrical skills for low- and standard-voltage fault-finding, repairs, and installations
- Assist with mechanical repairs, welding, and fabrication where required
- Troubleshoot issues and deliver practical solutions on-site
Hours of Work:
- Standard: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Flexibility required for early starts, late finishes, and seasonal peaks
- Weekend/on-call work on a rotating roster (every 6–8 weeks)
- Occasional overnight travel for out-of-town jobs
You must hold a current full electrical licence with the New Zealand Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB), be based locally, and have full time work rights in New Zealand.
