Location: Mt Roskill, Auckland
Employment Type: Full-time (30–40 hours per week)
Pay Rate: NZD $25.00 – $30.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
About the Employer
Dominion Home is a boutique dementia care facility providing long-term, respite, and day-care services in a safe and supportive environment. The facility focuses on person-centred care, dignity, wellbeing, and a homely atmosphere for residents living with dementia.
As the employer continues to expand its care services and a new hospital site is opening, additional Caregivers required to support increased resident capacity and ensure continuity and quality of care across the facility.
Role Description
We are seeking full-time Caregivers to provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents with dementia. The role involves supporting residents with daily living activities, monitoring wellbeing, and working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and supportive care environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and meals
- Monitor residents’ physical and behavioural conditions and report changes as required
- Provide companionship and support residents to participate in appropriate activities
- Follow individual care plans and maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment
- Work closely with nurses, healthcare professionals, and residents’ families
Skills and Experience Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following:- At least three years of full-time relevant work experience in caregiving, aged care, disability support, or dementia care; OR
- A relevant qualification at NZQA Level 4 or higher in Health, Healthcare, Aged Care, or a closely related field.Additional requirements:
- Good communication skills, patience, and empathy
- Knowledge of health and safety, infection control, and safe manual handling practices
- 30–40 hours per week
- Rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays
