What we are looking for

We are looking for a long term Support Workers in the Kerikeri area. Our client is in his 30s who lives in his family home and receives care 7 days a week, 24 hours per day. Hours available between Monday to Sunday daytime 8am-5pm(9 hrs), nights 5pm-8am (awake shift) and weekend or alternate weekends.

He has a dedicated and supportive team currently attending to him. The client has a range of complex conditions and needs. Hence, we are looking for special support workers who is energetic, willing to learn, and has a caring fun and compassionate nature to fit into the current team, who provide care to this client and support him to achieve his goals and enjoy his daily life activities.

The ideal candidate needs to have flexibility in covering mixture of shifts, and have a good attitude and a willingness to learn are essential attributes.

Experience in the disability setting is desirable but not essential as full training in the support needs of the client will be provided. The duties will be assisting with all personal cares, feeding, and working with client and therapists to extend abilities, supporting outings in the community, and completing daily house hold tasks.

The successful person will also need to meet the following criteria:
  • Reliability is must for the team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy, patience and a non-judgmental approach to supporting individuals with diverse needs
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Hold a full, clean Driver Licence and have access to a reliable car
  • Clear spoken English
  • Willingness to undergo relevant training and development
What we offer:
  • Competitive hourly rate ranging from $24.08 per hour up to $29.98 per hour depending on relevant qualifications, and paid travel. and meal breaks Wake over shift is paid at normal rate.
