This role provides variety, autonomy, and theopportunity to work alongside expert multidisciplinary teams deliveringadvanced cardiac and cardiovascular risk management care.Within the Cardiology Day Unit and Cardiac Catheter Labs,you will provide acute and planned care to patients undergoing diagnostic andinterventional cardiac procedures.With the recent expansion to a third CardiacCatheter Lab and continued growth of the Electrophysiology service, this is anexciting time to join a forward-focused service committed to innovation,collaboration, and excellence.In the Lipid Disorders Service, you will contribute to anationally recognised 'gold standard' multidisciplinary outpatient servicespecialising in the diagnosis, management, and cardiovascular prevention ofadults and children with genetic cholesterol disorders.
The nursing team undertake nurse led clinics involving comprehensivepatient assessment, education, and intervention planning in a highlyspecialised setting.About the Team / Service / LocationThe Cardiology Service at Christchurch Hospital providescomprehensive cardiac care across the South Island, delivering both acute andplanned services.Our teams pride themselves on clinical excellence,innovation, and collaborative practice.The Lipid Disorders Service is a nationally respected leaderin cardiovascular prevention, contributing to New Zealand and internationalguidelines and standards.
You will work within a supportive multidisciplinaryteam environment across both services.Christchurch offers a vibrant city lifestyle with easyaccess to beaches, mountains, and outdoor recreation, making it an exceptionalplace to live and work.About YouAs an experienced Registered Nurse, you will bring:Current New Zealand Registered Nurse APCMinimum 3 years' RN experience, including exposure to cardiology patientsStrong clinical assessment and critical thinking skillsCompetence in IV cannulation and medication administrationExcellent communication skills and ability to work both autonomously and collaborativelyDesirable:Postgraduate Health Assessment paper or equivalentProficient or Expert level on the PDRP pathwayECG and rhythm interpretation skillsPrevious Cardiac Catheter Lab experienceWorking at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
