About the RoleThis is a diverse and exciting role for a registered nurse working with tangata whai ora who live in this beautiful rural part of the Waikato.
In this role you will provide assessment and treatment for tangata whai ora and adolescent with acute or enduring mental illness in the community. Reporting to the CNM and ACNM you will hold a case load of 25-30 people as part of the MDT which include, consultant psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, takawaenga, support workers, NGO’s and nurses.
You will be conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, risk assessments and developing collaborative recovery plans utilizing your skills and knowledge to support your work with whai ora.The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the PSA Mental Health and Public Health Nursing Collective Agreement or the NZNO Nursing and Midwifery Collective Agreement.

About the Team and ServiceThe Rural South Sector provides a range of secondary care mental health services across the South Waikato and King Country region.
Our base is in Te Awamutu with outreach clinics located in Tokoroa, Te Kuiti and Taumarunui. This position will be based in Tokoroa for the majority of the time but there is expectancy to support at other bases if needed.Mental Health and Addictions Services at Waikato delivers a full range of specialty services across the district.
