Rural Automation Technician
B&M Electrical has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and practical Rural Automation Technician to join our team in Palmerston North.
This is a varied, hands-on role focused on rural and farm automation, with a strong emphasis on herd management hardware, software, monitoring systems and on-farm technology.
You will work with technology aligned to world leading animal health solutions, including management systems connected through identification, traceability, automation and monitoring. These technologies are designed to help New Zealand farmers produce first-class products on the world stage, now and into the future.
You will have the opportunity to learn and grow within a forward-thinking team. The role includes field service and breakdown support, along with installation of new systems on rural sites across Manawatu-Whanganui and Hawke’s Bay, supporting an extensive and valued customer base.

Key attributes we’re looking for- A clean, full New Zealand driver’s license

- The ability to complete documentation, client reports, and use health and safety systems
- Registration as a New Zealand electrician with a current EWRB practicing license
- Mechanical understanding
- Engineering or welding experience
- Configuring and re-imaging of PCs
- Industrial and server PC systems installation and configuration
- PC networking installation and configuration
- Drafting gates installation and servicing
- Automatic Calf feeder servicing
- Pneumatics installation and servicing
