Heathcare Assistant / Caregiver
Concord House Rest Home is seeking compassionate, reliable and experienced Healthcare Assistant / Caregiver to join our supportive aged care team providing rest home level care.
We are currently hiring for full-time positions with a minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week.- Shift Availability
Applicants must be available to work rotating rosters from Monday to Sunday, including:
- Afternoon Shift: 2:00PM - 10:00PM
- Night Shift: 10:00PM - 6:00AM
- Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have either:
- NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (or higher), OR
- Minimum 3 years experience working in aged care, resthome, dementia, disability support or healthcare settings
Applicants must also:
- Hold a current full driver licence and be confident driving
- Be fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Be reliable, professional, and able to work independently
- Be physically fit and capable of resident transfers and manual handling tasks
- Work well within a team environment
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and respect toward elderly residents
Ability to speak Mandarin, Cantonese, or Vietnamese would be an advantage.
#Key Responsibilities- Assisting residents with personal cares including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility support
- Supporting residents to maintain dignity, comfort, and independence
- Following care plans and reporting any changes in residents condition or behaviour
- Administering medications under competency guidelines
- Completing documentation and progress notes accurately
- Assisting with residents transfers and manual handling
- Supporting residents with dementia and high-care needs
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and respectful environment
- Communicating effectively with Registered Nurse, management, residents, and families
