Heathcare Assistant / Caregiver

Concord House Rest Home is seeking compassionate, reliable and experienced Healthcare Assistant / Caregiver to join our supportive aged care team providing rest home level care.

We are currently hiring for full-time positions with a minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week.
  • Shift Availability

Applicants must be available to work rotating rosters from Monday to Sunday, including:

  • Afternoon Shift: 2:00PM - 10:00PM
  • Night Shift: 10:00PM - 6:00AM
Flexibility to occasionally cover morning shifts is essential.
  • Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have either:

  • NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (or higher), OR
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in aged care, resthome, dementia, disability support or healthcare settings

Applicants must also:

  • Hold a current full driver licence and be confident driving
  • Be fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Be reliable, professional, and able to work independently
  • Be physically fit and capable of resident transfers and manual handling tasks
  • Work well within a team environment
  • Demonstrate empathy, patience, and respect toward elderly residents

Ability to speak Mandarin, Cantonese, or Vietnamese would be an advantage.

#Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting residents with personal cares including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility support
  • Supporting residents to maintain dignity, comfort, and independence
  • Following care plans and reporting any changes in residents condition or behaviour
  • Administering medications under competency guidelines
  • Completing documentation and progress notes accurately
  • Assisting with residents transfers and manual handling
  • Supporting residents with dementia and high-care needs
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and respectful environment
  • Communicating effectively with Registered Nurse, management, residents, and families
