Hays Recruitment is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Sheet Metal Fabricators for an assignment at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. This unique opportunity involves working in one of the most remote and challenging environments on Earth.
**Location: McMurdo Station, Antarctica (approximately 1000 residents in summer season)****Rate: $45 per hour (WAGES) $55 per hour (CONTRACTING)**
**Two intakes available - choose one or stay for both:**- Intake 1: October 2025 - Feb 2026
- Intake 2: Feb 2026 - October 2026
- Unrestricted NZ Work Rights (no sponsorship or visa variations provided)
- Proven experience and references working as a sheet metal fabricator
- NZ Certificate in Engineering Fabrication (Trade) (Level 4) with strand in Light Fabrication OR Overseas Equivalent
- Accommodation provided (you will be in a shared room)

- Work schedule: Mon - Sat, 7am - 5pm
- Medical and dental checks
