About the Role
We are seeking a driven and experienced Regional Business Development Manager to lead growth initiatives across the Central Otago, Southland, North Otago, and South Canterbury regions. This role involves maximizing opportunities with existing customers, actively pursuing new business, and promoting CHNZ and our services throughout the region.
You will be part of a supportive team environment and provided with the tools to succeed, including a company vehicle and comprehensive on-the-job training. We also offer competitive remuneration and benefits.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and grow relationships with existing customers within your assigned region.
- Identify and pursue new hire opportunities with current and prospective clients.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Plan and manage customer call cycles and provide regular monthly reports.
- Monitor market trends and report insights to management.
- Prepare accurate and timely customer proposals and forecasts.
- Represent CHNZ at industry events and trade shows to generate leads and build brand presence.
About You
You are passionate about delivering high-quality vehicle hire services to the construction and transport sectors. Ideally, you have firsthand experience in the heavy mechanical industry and a proven ability to grow a customer base and territory.You are confident in your ability to build strong business relationships and close deals effectively.
To be successful in this role, you will have:- A strong, demonstrable background in new business development and sales.
- A level-headed, ethical, and professional approach to business.
- Exceptional customer service, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- The ability to plan and manage daily, weekly, and monthly call cycles.
- Strong communication with and reporting to management.
- A proactive, goal-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and regular data entry.
- Excellent communication, presentation, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in civil construction, transport, rental, or similar competitive industries (an advantage).
- A Class 4 or 5 driver’s licence (preferred but not essential).
- NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
- Flexibility to travel throughout the region and stay overnight as required.
