About our group | Mō te rōpū The purpose of Kaupapa Kura Taiao is to provide high-level strategic leadership, policy and operational advice to the Chief Executive, wider Executive and EPA Board to enable the incorporation and consideration of Māori perspectives across all EPA policies, processes and decisions.
This includes providing advisory and executive support to Ngā Kaihautū Tikanga Taiao, the EPA's statutory Māori Advisory Committee.About our role | Mō te tūnga This is a fixed term part-time role at 0.8FTE for one year.
As Programme Advisor for Wai Tuwhera o te Taiao, you will support iwi, hapū, hapori Māori and community groups across the motu by educating and building capability on how to undertake and complete environmental DNA testing and monitoring.
This role is grounded in kaupapa Māori and contributes to the delivery of Whiria te Muka, the EPA's Māori Engagement and Mātauranga Work Programmes.
The role provides opportunities for you to express your creative flair by developing educational resources and designing wānanga to enhance the group's scientific capabilities and drive their environmental initiatives.
Your mahi will include receiving, reviewing shortlisting proposals and preparing analytical shortlist summaries and grading criteria for panels and providing programme administration, advice and facilitating wānanga.
About you | Mōhou ake We are looking for someone with a range of skills and experience- if you have some or all of the below, we would love to hear from you.
Have experience in science communication, with a proven ability to create engaging, high-quality educational resources Experience working with place-based community, iwi or hapū led projects Experience facilitating meetings, organising wānanga, events hui and webinars An understanding of te ao and tikanga Māori and experience working with iwi, hapū, hapori Māori and/or Māori-led rōpū is an essential requirement for this position.

Salary range $71,618- $107,426 per annum (midpoint $89,522).
Appointments will likely be made at or below the midpoint of this range, depending on skills and experience.
