Hustl Cafe, located in sunny Queenstown Central, Frankton, is currently seeking a new COOK for the kitchen who's enthusiastic about serving quality breakfast and lunch for the locals. If you’re passionate about cooking delicious cafe food and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment -- we’d love to hear from you!

• Proven min. 3 years of experience cooking in a cafe or similar setting.
• Knowledge of food safety, understanding strict food preparation guidelines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

• Food Preparation: Ensuring ingredients and final products are fresh. Wash, chop, measure, and mix ingredients for cooking.
• Cooking: Operate various cooking equipment, including oven, grills, deep fryers, and microwaves, to prepare food according to established recipes and standards.

• Food Quality & Safety: Ensure food is cooked to the correct temperature, meets quality standards, and is handled, stored, and prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Kitchen Maintenance: Keep the kitchen, cooking surfaces, utensils, and equipment clean and organized.

Inventory Management: Monitor food and supply levels, receive deliveries, and ensure ingredients are fresh and properly stocked.

• Training: Once experienced at Hustl Cafe’s kitchen, you may be required to assist in training other kitchen staff as required.
• Customer Service (Optional): May involve taking customer orders, receiving payment, and serving food at counters or windows.

• Speed and Efficiency: The ability to prepare food quickly and accurately in a high-volume environment.
• Attention to Detail: Following recipes precisely, measuring ingredients correctly, and ensuring portion control.
• Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding and adhering to strict sanitation and food handling guidelines.
• Multitasking: Handling multiple orders and tasks simultaneously.
• Teamwork: Working effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Stamina: The ability to work long hours, often standing for extended periods.

• This is a full-time, permanent position
• The hourly wage is from $25 - $30, fortnightly payments
• Holiday pay and sick pay are included by law
• Guaranteed min. 30 hours per week
• You'll need to be a NZ citizen or have a valid NZ work visa
