Pay range: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Days: Monday to Friday, occasional weekends
Hours: Guaranteed 40+ hours per week (standard hours 7:00 am - 4:30 pm, with overtime available)

The Role:
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will take pride in their workmanship, have a strong focus on quality and productivity, and be comfortable working both in the workshop and on-site. You will be involved in a variety of fabrication projects and work with a supportive, professional team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret technical and layout drawings.
- Fabricate steel parts such as portals, columns, and beams from technical drawings.
- Weld steel parts and dismantle structures and equipment as required.
- Assemble steel components according to shop drawings and specifications.
- Perform visual inspections and quality checks at various production stages.
- Use a range of tools and equipment including MIG/TIG welders, clamps, grinders, saws, drills, and guillotines.
- Handle chemicals and solvents safely (e.g., cleaning solvents, cutting oil).
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
About you:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant fabrication and welding experience (NZ or overseas).
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and sketches.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and productivity.
- Capable of working unsupervised or as part of a team.
- Physically fit and safety-conscious.
- Holds a valid NZ driver's license.
Preferred but not essential:
- Knowledge of engineering standards (AS/NZS 1554.1, AS/NZS 5131, ISO 9606).
- Class 2-5 Truck License.
- Rigging experience.
- Forklift, EWP, Height Training, First Aid certifications.
- Current SiteSafe Passport.
- Experience with aluminium and stainless steel.
- Relevant trade qualification.
