Chef de Parties for Japanese Restaurant
Katsu Katsu in Newmarket is currently looking for a Chef de Partie to join our team. This is a full time positions with 30 hours of minimum guaranteed hours of work.
The ideal candidate should have at least two years experience working in Japanese restaurant offering a la carte menu. There is a clear path for the right person to advance to our Sous Chef and Head Chef position.
Examples of responsibilities and skills we are looking for are.- assist with menu planning with head chef and owner
- assist with estimating food and labour cost and adhere to budgets
- able to take full responsibility at all stages for a designated section of the kitchen
- follow set policies to maintain standards for food safety in all food preparation areas
- Impart knowledge and training to kitchen staff
- ordering and maintaining inventory to ensure efficient operations
- knowledge of Japanese Cuisine
The most important qualities are that you are able to work in a team, hard working, willing to learn, and has the ability to adapt. Ability to speak Japanese is favorable but not a must.
