Backpacker Receptionist
Auckland
We’re a hostel located in Auckland Central and looking for a personable and reliable Receptionist to join our front desk team. As the face of the hostel, you’ll be the first point of contact for guests, helping them check in, get settled, and discover what the local area has to offer.
Key Responsibilities:- Greet guests with a warm and friendly attitude
- Check guests in and out efficiently using our booking system
- Handle EFTPOS, and online payments
- Respond to phone, email, and in-person inquiries
- Provide local travel and tourism information
- Ensure front desk and common areas remain tidy and welcoming
- Assist with administrative tasks and guest records
- Communicate any guest issues to the manager
- Occasionally help with light housekeeping or hostel activities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)
- Confident using computers and booking systems
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Friendly, approachable, and able to work in a multicultural environment
- Flexible to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Previous experience in hospitality or travel/tourism is preferred
