Head Chef / Senior Chef – New Restaurant in Nelson
We’re launching a brand new Japanese-inspired restaurant in central Nelson, serving a healthy and modern twist on traditional ochazuke.
We’re looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic chef to take the lead in our kitchen. You don’t need decades of experience – just a few solid years in a professional kitchen, a positive attitude, and the drive to create great food.
What You’ll Do:
Run day-to-day kitchen operations
Work with the team to develop exciting Japanese dishes
Ensure high standards of food quality and presentation
Keep the kitchen organised, safe, and efficient
What You’ll Bring:
A valid New Zealand work visa (no visa sponsorship available)
Several years’ experience in a professional kitchen (head or senior chef level preferred, but not essential)
Interest in Japanese cuisine
Location: Nelson CBDSalary: Competitive, based on experience
