Join Our YMCA Taranaki Team as a Casual Climbing Wall Instructor - weekends or evenings or both!

YMCA Taranaki is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and caring individual to help create a safe, fun, and inclusive environment at our climbing wall for groups of people.

As a Climbing Wall Instructor, you’ll be part of a team that supports everyone—from curious preschoolers to adventurous adults—on their climbing journey. If you’re energetic, community-minded, and ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you!

This is a casual role with flexible hours. We are look for someone who is available during weekends or evenings or both. What You’ll Bring:

• Prior experience volunteering or working with children and or vulnerable groups is required.
• Experience leading children and/or adult groups.
• A willingness to learn and teach safe climbing practices.
• Physical fitness and a love for active work.
• A friendly, approachable personality.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Confidence working independently and with diverse groups.
• Basic knowledge of climbing techniques and equipment preferred (or a keen interest to learn).
