About the Role
Palmerston North Auto Detailers Ltd is a growing automotive business primarily specialising in
vehicle grooming and detailing services. As part of our business expansion, we are introducing
mechanical servicing and repair services to meet increasing customer demand. We are seeking two
skilled Automotive Mechanics to support the establishment and delivery of these new services. This
role will involve both workshop-based duties and mobile servicing using a company vehicle. The
successful candidates will play a key role in building and maintaining high standards of
workmanship, safety, and customer service. You will be reporting to the Workshop Manager.
Key Responsibilities
1 Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in a range of vehicles
2 Carrying out servicing, repairs, and general maintenance
3 Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance
4 Using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment effectively
5 Ensuring all work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
6 Maintaining accurate service records
7 Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition
8 Complying with all workplace health and safety policies and New Zealand regulations
1 At least 2 years’ relevant work experience as an Automotive Mechanic OR a relevant Level 4
qualification (or equivalent)
2 Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
3 Ability to work independently and as part of a team
4 Full, clean Class 1 New Zealand driver licence (or equivalent overseas licence convertible to
NZ)
5 Good communication and time management skills
6 Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks
7 Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug test
