Logistics Manager- Scaffold Operations

Total Scaffold is on the lookout for an experienced and motivated Logistics Manager to lead operations across our Auckland-based yard, aluminium and steel scaffold division.

In this pivotal role, you'll plan, organize and coordinate all aspects of our logistics, transport, stock control, and aluminium scaffold operations. This is a dynamic, hands-on leadership role that combines operational oversight with strategic planning and customer-focused service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics Management
  • Plan, implement, and monitor storage, and distribution strategies to ensure efficient operations.
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of equipment and materials across branches.
  • Maintain optimal stock levels, perform stocktakes, and manage replenishment cycles.
  • Operate and manage systems for inward and outward goods to ensure scaffold gear accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with Best Practice Guidelines (BPG) and manage yard access, safety, and traffic flow.
  • Oversee procurement of goods and equipment, manage supplier contracts, and ensure best value.
  • Monitor and report on transport usage, HIAB scheduling, and vehicle inspections.
  • Manage internal and external logistics routes, ensuring safe material movement and site layouts.
  • Identify and mitigate logistics-related hazards in line with HSWA 2015.
Yard Management
  • Supervise daily yard operations, gear counts, loading/offloading processes, and lock-up procedures.
  • Ensure staff use appropriate PPE, follow yard protocols, and are trained to operate machinery safely.
  • Maintain yard cleanliness, safe access, and organization of scaffolding gear and vehicles.
  • Perform or oversee repair and colour coding of scaffolding components.
  • Manage depot security, rosters, and labour allocations to meet daily requirements.
Aluminium Scaffold Division Oversight
  • Manage overall business performance of the aluminium scaffold division.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, secure new work, and meet/exceed sales targets.
  • Provide expert advice and service to customers, ensuring scaffold solutions meet their needs.
  • Prepare and submit competitive quotations and pricing while maintaining profitability.
  • Monitor and achieve division KPIs, manage enquiry-to-sale pipelines, and track project performance.
  • Conduct site visits, customer meetings, and manage customer onboarding and satisfaction.
People Management
  • Lead, train, and motivate yard and scaffold teams, promoting a culture of performance and safety.
  • Recruit and retain suitable staff; manage performance reviews and ongoing team development.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure coordinated execution of logistics and project activities.
  • Lead by example and promote high standards of professional conduct.
Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, health and safety regulations, and employment law.
  • Maintain records of procurement, storage, transportation, and inventory transactions.
  • Investigate and report on vehicle or yard incidents, damage, and compliance breaches.
  • Submit weekly operations reports to the Director and participate in regular management meetings.
  • Ensure team members have completed health and safety inductions and site-specific documentation.
What We’re Looking For:
  • 3+ Years experience in logistics, operations, or warehouse/yards (scaffold industry preferred) with a strong understanding of inventory systems, logistics scheduling, and operational software
  • Full NZ driver’s license (compulsory) + forklift license (preferable)
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication, planning and organizational ability
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a safety-first mindset
