Lead good governance processes, reporting and advice for decision makersLocation: Auckland or WellingtonPermanent, Full-TimeHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleWe have the opportunity available to join our Business Services team as a Governance and Reporting Lead in a permanent, full-time role.The primary purpose of the role is to lead a small team responsible for managing the business support, governance and reporting processes for the NPHS.
This includes leading the risks and issues reporting, health, safety and wellbeing programme, managing decision papers for the NPHS Leadership Team, and developing ongoing business processes and guidance. Your expertise will be drawn upon by different parts of the National Public Health Service including the senior leadership team, so you will be someone that can work at pace and collaboratively with senior leaders.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.

You come with strong business support, governance advisory and reporting experience.
You understand and have the ability to adapt and use a range of frameworks, principles, tools and methods to effectively support decision-makers.Skills and ExperienceA relevant graduate and post-graduate qualificationExtensive experience supporting senior leaders and governance groups15+ years governance (technical support) experience and 5+ years management experienceStrong written and oral communication, ability to write good quality papers for decision-makersExperience in managing business support functions and processesExperience developing and implementing consistent group-wide processes, procedures, tools, and templatesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detailProven organisational skills with the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities and meet deadlines whilst preserving high levels of accuracy and confidentialityWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
