We are looking for an **Engineering Workshop Manager** to lead the Mechanical Engineering team based at the Fulton Hogan yard in Hamilton. The role will require you to effectively manage your department ensuring that it is delivering quality work for our clients and our people.
Delivering good work ensures the long-term success and profitability of our business. You are key to our success, without our people doing good work, we have no business.
**As a Workshop Manager, you will:**- Passion and commitment to safety in the workplace.
- Have a Mechanical Engineering qualification and a sound knowledge of engineering principles and procedures.
- Fabrication and machinery repair experience and knowledge, with bitumen sprayer and transport systems an advantage.
- Demonstrate strong financial and commercial acumen, with a sound understanding of budgets, forecasting, cost control and claims.
- Oversee pricing of work and preparation of quotes and estimates.
- Excellent people leadership skills to drive and encourage a collaborative work environment with staff.
- Ensure forward planning, organizing and ordering of materials and subcontractors.
- Ensure your department staff are provided with leadership and guidance to maximize performance.
- Ensure the delivery of all work is to the required standards.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Full class 1 driver's licence.
