- Kōrero mō te Tūranga The Specialist Adviser will support growth in New Zealand's primary sector exports by identifying and prioritising high-potential market access initiatives as part of the Bilateral Relations & Trade team.
You will tackle technical trade barriers, manage stakeholder relationships, and collaborate with overseas authorities to help drive export growth for primary sectors including dairy, meat, horticulture, and forestry.
The primary focus of the role will be on primary sector engagement with South Asia but may involve other markets.Balancing strategy and reactive problem-solving, you will work across areas of food safety and biosecurity, being cognisant of sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) requirements.
You'll engage with industry stakeholders and overseas counterparts to resolve trade issues and realise opportunities, working closely with MFAT, MBIE, and NZTE to align messaging and leverage diplomatic ties.Over time, this position offers scope for international travel.
