Requirements
- At least 2 years of related work experience OR
- At least a related NZ Register Diploma Level 4 qualification may substitute for the experience (overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification) OR
- The National Skill Standard Testing Level 1 (Thai Cook or Thai Chef) from Thailand
- Knowledge of Thai food cooking techniques
- Inspecting food items to verify their quality
- Controlling the temperature settings of ovens, grills, and other cooking appliances
- Preparing and cooking meals
- Adding seasoning to food while it cooks
- Serving food by portioning it, plating, and applying sauces, gravies, and garnishes
- Keeping food stored in appropriate temperature-controlled environments
- Preparing meals according to specific dietary needs
- Potentially involved in planning menus and estimating ingredient quantities
- May also be responsible for training junior kitchen staff and apprentices
- This is a full-time and permanent position
- Wages range from $26 to $30 per hour, depending on your skills and experience, and are paid weekly.
- Holiday pay and sick leave will be paid according to the law
- You will be working in Auckland. The employer has two shops located at: (1) 4 Todd Plaza, New Lynn, Auckland, (2) 490 South Titirangi Road, Titirangi, Auckland. You will be assigned to work in one of these shops as agreed upon by you and the employer.
- You will work according to a roster 5 - 6 days each week, with a guarantee of 30 hours (a maximum of 48 hours)
