John Leader Electrical Ltd is a privately owned business based in Palmerston North, with a varied and challenging variety of work, predominantly in the general domestic and commercial areas of work – from small maintenance jobs to large residential builds, heatpump servicing and repairs, and heatpump installations.
The role of Refrigeration/HVAC Specialist is based from our workshop in Palmerston North, however may include having to travel to jobs within the Manawatu region, which could be an hour’s drive from our workshop.
Key Responsibilities:-
• installing a wide variety of HVAC/refrigeration units according to work orders, specifications and installation instructions;
• observing and testing new systems;
• diagnosing faults, ordering, and installing replacement parts;
• degassing, and re-gassing systems when required;
• servicing, maintaining, and repairing of units;
• maintaining stock levels.
The successful applicant will be someone who:-
• has at least three years’ experience as an HVAC/Refrigeration Technician:-
** brands will include, but not limited to, Panasonic, Daikin, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Gree, Haier, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu and Toshiba; ** types will include hi
-wall, floor mounted, cassette, ducted, and multi-split systems in both domestic and commercial situations;
• holds at least a Trainee Limited Licence with the EWRB;
• holds an Approved Filler Compliance Certificate;
• has a keen interest in becoming an NZ qualified Electrical Installer;
• holds a full and current NZ driver’s licence (Class 1);
• can legally work in New Zealand;
• has a good command and use of the English language;
• has good written and verbal communication skills;
• is organised, and able to keep up to date with all required paperwork;
• able to work autonomously, as well as within a team environment;
• well presented, with good interpersonal skills.
This is a full-time permanent position offering a minimum of 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, with the occasional Saturday required. Company van, mobile phone, and uniform provided; and a weekly tool allowance. The hourly rate offered will be between $30 and $32.
