ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for experienced mechanics to join our busy automotive team based at Linton Military Camp. Our team help keep the NZ Army moving by providing repair, certification and maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment that form part of the NZDF operational Vehicle Fleet, including MAN Medium and Heavy Operational Vehicles (MHOV),Mercedes and UNIMOG vehicles.

ABOUT YOU:
We are looking for a highly motivated, customer-focused, automotive professional. As the NZ Army fleet of vehicles are primarily diesel, preference will be given to qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanics with a minimum of class 1 & 2 licences.
 •  NZQA in Level 4 Heavy Road Transport
 •  A commitment to doing a quality job safely
 •  A good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
 •  A proactive approach to equipment maintenance
 •  Ability to work to a high standard with minimal supervision
 •  Positive attitude and friendly manner
You will have a genuine passion for the trade as you will be required to mentor military and Lockheed Martin apprentices.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this role you must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance. See minimum criteria below:
 •  NZ citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the past 5 years, OR
 •  A NZ Permanent Resident who has resided in NZ for the past 5 years OR
 •  A citizen of Australia, Canada, UK or the USA who has a current work permit for NZ

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
You will also be required to undergo pre-employment activities including drug screening and vetting by NZ Police.
