Remuneration: $32 per hour
Guaranteed Minimum working hours per week: 30 hours per week
Working hours per week: 30-40 hours
Position: Chef
Location: 7 George Street, Timaru, Canterbury.
Successful candidates should have either relevant NZ Register Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) qualification OR have minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
Must be able to work under pressure; be able to work in weekends and shifting schedule;be able to maintain and adhere to food, safety, and hygiene standards.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Plan, develop and review the menus from time to time;
• Advise variation of food preparation cost on menu items;
• Control stock and order food supplies when necessary;
• Monitor food dishes quality at all stages of food preparation and presentation process;
• Communicate with director, other chefs and kitchen staffs in relation to any quality issue;
• Train other kitchen staffs by demonstrating techniques and advising on preparation of food menu
• Prepare ingredients, cook dishes, and arrange food on serving plates and containers;
• Implement hygiene and safety regulations and explain them to other kitchen and waiting staffs
• Supervise and train other kitchen staff when required;
• Ensure that food and ingredients are properly stored and preserved;
• Responsible for the tidiness and cleanliness of the equipment and environments in the kitchen and make sure that correct procedures and guidelines are followed.
