About The Salvation Army Bridge: Waikato
The Salvation Army Bridge: Waikato exists to provide safe, integrated, high-quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use. Our services are evidenced based best practice and are known for being people-centered, caring, transformative and responsive.
We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified addictions counsellor for our community service based in the Hamilton.
Key responsibilities:
• Provision of casework that provides integrated care for those experiencing co-existing problems of addiction and mental health
• Group facilitation
• Working within the framework of The Salvation Army Bridge Programme Model of Treatment
• Implementation of the Salvation Army Bridge Programme Policies and Procedures
Person specification:
• Tertiary alcohol and drug qualification and DAPAANZ professional registration
• Or qualification in a closely related field such as social work, psychology, nursing
• An awareness of the requirements of the treaty of Waitangi and be willing to work from a bi-cultural perspective
• Ability to work with people from other diverse backgrounds and cultures
• Ability to work within a team environment and also independently when required
