Forklift Operator/Storeperson

About the role We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Forklift operator looking to work in a highly skilled and dynamic team, The warehouse based in Dunedin is responsible for moving a variety of Dairy Products and other forms of freight locally.
A typical day in a Storeperson/Forklift Operator role at this site will see you loading and unloading trucks using forklifts, devanning containers as well as completing a range of relevant paperwork.
The successful candidate must be physically fit and capable of carrying out manual labour from time to time. The roster will have you working Monday – Friday dayshift, 7:30am-4:30pm and every second Saturday. Some flexibility is required to suit business and seasonal needs.
Duties Day-to-day tasks:
• Complete accurate and detailed stocktaking tasks daily including checking bar-coding data, and the quantity and location of products in order to maintain accurate warehouse inventory records of all product.
• Be responsible for the receiving (inwards), storage and shipping (outwards) of all products in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
• Take all reasonably practicable steps to prevent harm to themselves or to any other person in the workplace.
• Have fun!
Skills and experience
• At least 2 years’ experience operating a forklift in a busy storage environment;
• Pay depends on experience and skills, around $26.50 starting rate
• A full clean Class 1 licence;
• A current F Endorsement and OSH certificate;
• Experience using RF scanners working in a food grade environment is preferred, but not essential;
• Reliability and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines;
• Good communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work as part of team
