Paki iti Farms is Hill Country sheep and beef farm located in Rangiwahia, near the Ruahine Ranges. We are on the look out for a capable Shepherd. The operation includes a breeding unit with 1500 SIL recorded Romney ewes with an additional 1800 commercials as well as 180 cows.
While you will predominantly work at the Rangiwahia Farm, there will be occasions where you will be required to help out on the down-country blocks.
The successful applicant will have the following:
• Experience: you’ll need to have at least three good working dogs, safely drive an ATV, competently shear a sheep, and undertake fencing repairs.
• Be trustworthy, reliable and hard working.
• Work ethic – a good one is required.
• Respect of people, property and animals. As an established Romney and Suffolk stud farm, the stock is our livelihood.
• Be motivated, show initiative and be capable of working independently as well as cooperatively with others involved in the business.
Accommodation includes a comfortable set of Shearer's quarters that are well-insulated and include a heat pump. These can be fully or partially furnished depending on your requirements.
You will be working with the existing Stock Manager to deliver the job requirements.
Remuneration package based on skill level and experience.
