Subsurface Surveying Technician/Locator

Responsibilities of the role:
• Conduct subsurface utility, asset and object and anomaly locating using various equipment and techniques.
• Interpret GPR data and provide accurate reporting.
• Perform concrete scanning to identify rebar, post-tension cables, and other structures. Conduct leak detection services for water and gas pipelines.
• Mark and document underground utilities for excavation projects.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure efficient and safe outcomes.
• Collect GPS position data of subsurface assets and other objects, and process information using CAD software.
• Always ensure safe work practices.
Requirements:
• Be available for some after-hours work, and some overnight travel.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret asset owners' utility maps.
• Strong understanding of subsurface utility engineering principles.
• Good time management and organisational skills.
• Physically fit and in good health.
• Effective communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's licence, good driving record and willingness to travel to various work sites.
• Preference will be given to people with the following attributes:
• Experienced operator of GPR (ground penetrating radar) and EMF (electromagnetic frequency) locating equipment.
• Experience in GPS equipment operation, CAD software and post fieldwork mapping.
• Ability to interpret GPR data and generate comprehensive reports.
• Current beforeUdig Certified Locator Status
• Some background in electronics and/or surveying
• Experience in Leak Detection, CCTV operation, or Concrete Scanning
