About the Role:

 •  We are ideally looking for someone passionate about BOOKS, as predominantly the job is displaying, searching, sourcing, ordering, and recommending books to avid readers.
 •  You will serve our valued clientele and sell products, with daily tasks such as inputting data, processing orders, creating and maintaining stock displays, and cleaning the store.
 •  Rostered hours are Sunday 9.00 am to 3.00 pm and Monday, Thursday, and Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, with some public and school holidays. Potential for more hours if required.

Skills and Experience Required:

 •  Previous retail service experience using POS terminals and Eftpos is preferred.
 •  Ideally knowledgeable in selling Books, Stationery, Gifts, and Greeting Cards.
 •  Previous NZ Post / Kiwibank / Paper Plus experience would be a clear advantage.
 •  Strong computer skills (role includes the use of Advance Retail POS, MS Excel, database, and web)
 •  Fluent English, attention to detail, and clear penmanship for writing notes and orders are essential.
 •  The ability to retain information and product knowledge in a fast-changing environment is necessary to keep up to date with book titles and new releases.
 •  Both physical and mental agility are required to keep up with daily tasks.
 •  Must have reliable transportation/ability to get to work before your shift starts.
 •  Mature attitude, with a high degree of work ethic and sense of responsibility.
 •  Well-presented with pride in your appearance and a personable and friendly manner.
