Who are we?

ReoFab is part of a well-established international company supplying reinforcing steel to the building market. ReoFab has branches in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hastings and group operations throughout Australasia.

Reofab Wellington is located in Wingate Industrial Estate, Lower Hutt, operating from a large and modern, purpose-built workshop - currently undergoing expansion. We operate the latest automated machinery and combine this with state-of-the-art delivery systems.

The Role;

Overseeing production, you will ensure the company’s products meet or exceed customers’ expectation. You will ensure operations run smoothly and effectively, and the workshop runs in a safe manner. Complying with safety and environmental rules and regulations.

You will be a great leader, exhibiting managerial, and interpersonal skills - through excellent oral and written communication. You will be an example to others following company policies and procedures. You will conduct workshop employee performance reviews in a timely manner, and lead workshop staff meetings.
You will follow changes in government rules and regulations related to labor issues, safety requirements, and environment issues.

You may have qualifications in engineering or another relevant field. You will have commensurate work experience, and be required to mentor and coach workshop staff. Some travel maybe required from time to time.

We are looking for candidates who have had experience in engineering workshops, seeking a long-term career path, in an established and successful reinforcing steel business.

This challenging position will require you to work accurately and efficiently to ensure all aspects of our busy workshop are functioning at the highest possible level, with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction through excellent communication.

Utilising all available resources to meet daily and monthly targets – assigning tasks and managing shift supervisors, machine operators/equipment/transport/logistics. Continuously identifying and refining all aspects of the operation, including costs.

Specific Daily Tasks;

Scheduling forward workloads in collaboration with contracts supervisors, detailers and customers – using aSa Scheduling software.
Distribution of forward work to shift supervisors.
Managing all aspects of incoming stock.

Ordering workshop consumables/sundry stock items
Managing all workshop related operational activities.
Monitor and manage shift optimisation of machinery and inventory.
Responsible for delivery in full, on time, and in specification (DIFOTIS).
Monitor and manage daily aspects of site and building operation.
Manage, monitor and report on daily aspects of H&S program.

Minimum Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role and environment
Minimum engineering (or equivalent) certification
Advanced Computer skills including Excel, Outlook
Excellent numeracy and eye for detail
Great communication skills, both verbally and written
Suitable quality references.
Gantry crane ticket and forklift endorsement (ideally HT also)
Physically fit
Positive “can-do” attitude
Drug free
Able to perform an online psychometric test

Ancillary Skills:

Technical understanding, innovation, quality focus
Health & safety management and reporting
