Remuneration for these roles is $80,442 - $113,000 ($38.67 - $54.33 per hour) for full time equivalent, dependent on experience.

The opportunity:

We have opportunities available for motivated pharmacists, with or without clinical experience, to join our Pharmacy Service based at Whangarei Hospital. We are interested to hear from pharmacists who can work full- or part-time hours.

With a talented team of approximately 20 pharmacists, we provide clinical pharmacy services to inpatient areas across Medicine, Surgery, Older People's Health Rehabilitation, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Children's Health, Mental Health, Infectious Diseases Antimicrobial Stewardship, Cancer and Blood services and Renal services.

The Role:

Right now, we are looking for Pharmacists to join our team. This core pharmacist role will provide a comprehensive, effective and safe pharmaceutical service to patients and staff in Te Tai Tokerau - Northland, primarily based at Whangarei Hospital.
Hours of work for these positions are up to 40 hours per week.

Main responsibilities:

 •  Providing clinical pharmacy services to our inpatients, including medicines reconciliation, medication review and optimisation, discharge facilitation, patient counselling and attending ward rounds and multidisciplinary team working
 •  Promoting evidence-based medicine and patient-centred care
 •  Contributing towards quality improvement and medication safety initiatives
 •  Continuing to grow your clinical expertise and contributing to education and training of your colleagues and other professions
 •  Supporting other aspects of the pharmacy service such as the inpatient dispensary and on call service
