We are on the lookout for a permanent Technical Trainer to join our award-winning training team. You will be based at our dedicated Training Centre in Swanson, West Auckland.

The Role:

Reporting to the Training Manager, our Technical Trainer's main reasonability is to design, deliver and facilitate both practical and theory-based training and assessment to our branch network. Not only will you coordinate all aspects of training, but you will also write course reports and content. You will primarily be based at our Training Centre in West Auckland, however there is a requirement to travel to deliver training both remotely and face to face. You will also:

 •  Ensure all training materials and resources are relevant, providing solutions and recommendations for continuous improvement
 •  Support and facilitate our field staff, ensuring training is integrated and practiced
 •  Consult about changes and processes with inspection requirements
 •  Provide and capture meaningful reports such as training activity, employee skills, return of investment all in a timely manner
 •  Use a variety of training tools and channels to facilitate

About you:

You will come from an automotive background having held or holding a current authority with NZTA*. You will have an interest in adult education and have the skills to present and facilitate while keeping the customer at the forefront of everything you do. You will also have:

 •  Previously worked in a training and development role with high presentation skills (advantageous but not essential)
 •  Knowledge and experience of training methodology and processes
 •  Advanced communication - written and verbal with the ability to build and sustain strong relationships
 •  If you do not hold a current authority, we can help you obtain this provided you meet the NZTA requirements to become a heavy and/or light vehicle inspector.
