We are looking for a high achieving, highly motivated Bakery Production Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience in the same or similar role, or be a highly skilled baker looking for the next challenge.

We are a small family run Artisan Bakery. We produce high volumes of high-quality bakery products. We have a large range of products that our customers love; often adding new products and flavours to keep things interesting. We have won multiple awards for our baking and were highly commended in the most recent Manawatu Business Awards.

We have a great core team and are now looking to grow. Our staff enjoy turning up to work and as a result we have low staff turnover. We are looking for someone to join for the long term.

This position is for a skilled baker and is definitely not an entry level position.

 •  Ability to lead a team effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines and targets
 •  Able to manage stock levels and minimise wastage
 •  Manage quality control and ensure that our range of products is available
 •  Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, staff and owners
 •  Fit and healthy and able to lift 25kg easily
 •  Able to adapt to day-to-day needs and changes that may arise

Applicants must understand and be able to produce a wide range of bread, pastry and cake products. You must have a good understanding of:
 •  Bakery processes – mixing and developing pastry and bread doughs, laminating pastries, cutting and shaping croissants and danishes, hand moulding and shaping dough, bulk ferment doughs, no time doughs, proving and baking, slices and biscuits, frying donuts, piping creams/icings/fillings, making pies
 •  Bakery equipment and machines – including but not limited to deck ovens, spiral mixer, planetary mixer, proofer, pastry sheeter
 •  Bakery KPI’s – such as cost of goods, wages, wastage, GP

Renumeration to be discussed at interview but for the right candidate salary can range from 70K – 100k plus
