We are seeking a talented Chef De Partie to join our amazing team at our beautiful Hotel.
Our well-regarded Sudima Lake Rotorua kitchen team offers out guests room service, a la carte and buffet for breakfast, a la carte for lunch and dinner in our restaurant, and extensive conferencing.
We are currently seeking experienced Chef de Partie to join our team to produce creative and innovative gourmet dishes.
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role, have excellent all round cooking skills but and is keen to progress their career. We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about their career as a Chef and who enjoys being part of a team.
This full-time permanent role (minimum 32 hours per week) is based at Sudima Lake Rotorua and the hourly rate is $29.25 - $31.15 per hour.
Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Produce excellent quality dishes to brand standards for the restaurant, bar, conferencing and room service on a day to day basis
• Organising the shift, placing orders, prep completion and supporting the team to ensure the kitchen is always well prepared, clean and hygienic for each shift
• Support the Head Chef and where appropriate guide junior kitchen team members
• Offer flexibility with dietary needs and ensure excellent food hygiene and safety standard are adhered to
• Foster a great team environment of cooperation and respect between co-workers
• Planning menus, estimating food and labor costs, and ordering food supplies.
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Preparing and cooking food
• Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
• May select and train staff
• May freeze and preserve foods
Requirements

We seek team members with a great attitude, in addition to that the following skills will see you succeed in this role. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed below. In some instances, relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.
A qualification such as a certificate in Cookery (Level 4) will be an advantage.
NZQF Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
Experience in a busy kitchen environment
Planning and organising skills and an ability to work individually and in a team
Ability to multi-task, show flexibility and meet deadlines, work under pressure
Flexible to work rostered shifts, including weekends, late nights, and public holidays
Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta makers)
Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks, excellent time management abilities
Familiarity with sanitation regulations
