McAlpines Engineering currently has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and highly skilled tradesman to join our Rangiora team.
McAlpines Engineering provides services for a wide & varied customer base, ranging from maintenance of equipment to bespoke project solutions for customers across New Zealand & Australia. We are a hardworking and passionate team, looking for somebody that shares these values.
Day to day duties could include, but are not limited to: Breakdown response, fault-finding and general maintenance repairs
General fabrication and welding : including structural, sheet metal, stainless-steel, on-site repairs (MIG, ARC and TIG)
Machining operations – Lathe and milling machine
Scheduled maintenance shut down work and preventative maintenance
Project work – Assembly and fitting, testing and installation
Hours are flexible with the opportunity for overtime on weekends
The successful applicant will possess the following skills and attributes:
• Relevant Trades Qualification.
• Good knowledge of sound engineering principals, and repairs and maintenance procedures on a large industrial processing site.
• Ability to analyse problems and implement effective solutions on a timely basis.
• Be physically fit.
• Be flexible to work extended hours when required.
• Be self-motivated and capable of working both independently and within a tight knit team of engineering support.
• Have a positive attitude to problem solving.
You will have the opportunity to be involved in projects and installation of new site equipment as well as a wide range of mechanical engineering applications across various sites.
We offer a competitive remuneration package with opportunities for on-going training.
McAlpines have an active drug & alcohol policy in place, a pre-employment drug test and medical will be required.
