HGV Driver – Opportunities in Bay of Plenty

We are on the hunt for HGV Drivers - If you have a WTR and experience in operating heavy earthmoving equipment that’s a bonus!

Your duties include but are not limited to;
 •  carry out routine safety checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely.
 •  weighing of truck/s before and after it is loaded to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight.
 •  supervise or assist with loading and unloading vehicles using lifting and tipping devices
 •  driving of trucks to transport materials, goods and equipment and make deliveries, to various job sites.
 •  checking the condition of the load ensuring that it is securely fastened and covered to prevent loss and damage.
 •  follow the correct safety procedures if goods being transported are dangerous
 •  check and verification of all the loading documentation related to loads they are carrying
 •  estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight
 •  ensuring goods are stowed and securely covered to prevent loss and damage
 •  verifying loading documents, checking condition of goods and obtaining certification of deliveries
 •  record keeping, maintain an up-to-date log book of the hours worked

If you have WTR endorsements you may also need experience with preparing and positioning mobile plant; fitting and removing attachments such as buckets, winches, loading scoops, shovel blades and rock breaking hammers; operating controls to excavate, break, drill, level, compact, gouge out, move, load and spread earth, rock, rubble, soil and other materials; manipulate attachments using manual and hydraulic controls

Ideally, you will be or have:

 •  At least 1 year Truck Driving experience
 •  Appropriate class 2, 4 or 5 valid license essential
 •  Preferrable but not essential WTR or a combination of endorsements
 •  Own reliable transport
 •  At least 2 work references
 •  The ability to work from drawings, markers and/or verbal instructions
 •  100% commitment to Health & Safety
 •  Able to pass a pre-employment drug test

In return we offer competitive rates of pay, varied and challenging work, regular hours with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, as well as long-term opportunities.

Minimum pay range $30-$40 depending on experience
