iSim Ltd is a Waikato based company that specialises in designing and manufacturing next generation Flight simulators.
We are expanding our team in the production area and are now looking for a new employee who is interested in aviation and aviation training. This is a hands-on role where you will help to build the interesting and complex products:
Mechatronics Engineer/Technician – Flight simulator design and construction
Your activities:
• Mechanical design of Flight simulator cockpit and avionics from conception through to assembly and commissioning based on:
• - Aircraft manuals and Drawings
• Aircraft measurements and photographs
• Construction, assembly and cabling of flight simulators based on construction and electrical plans
• Carrying out quality control and testing
• Creation of drawings and documentation
• Analysing problems & running tests
• Participation in continuous product improvement
• Close cooperation with other team members
Your profile:
• Mechatronic or Mechanical training or experience
• Manufacturing and practical hands-on experience would be an advantage
• Experience using 2D and 3D CAD (working in SolidWorks is advantage) to convert design briefs into 3D design and working drawings
• Good technical understanding, interest in aviation is an advantage
• Able to read technical drawings and manuals
• Ready to innovate and this is something that motivates you
• Ability to monitor and report on project progress
• “Can do” attitude and desire to learn something new
• Ability to work under time pressure
• Be confident in using a range of hand tools and power tools
• Independent, careful and have precise way of working and high quality awareness
• Ability to work in a team, physical resilience and willingness to show commitment when necessary
• Health and safety conscious
• Willingness to occasionally travel abroad for commissioning at customers' sites
