Foreman - Civil Contracting

PCL Contracting was established in 2006, working across the civil construction industry. We carry out all forms of civil contracting, infrastructure, drainage, with our niche market being asphalting. We have extensive experience in asphalt, subdivisions, streetscape upgrades and drainage works.
Our longstanding relationships with our clients make us the preferred partner for many.
We are on the search for an experienced Foreman to lead one of our Civil teams in the Wellington region. We have a strong focus on getting the right fit within our team, as our people are the most important part of our business. We generally work Monday - Friday, however at times you may also be required to work varied days/hours.
As a part of this role you would be required to (but would not be limited to):
• Ensuring the completion of contracts on time and within budget.
• Ensure staff operations of all plant and equipment are efficient and safely completed.
• Meeting regularly with Project Managers in order to plan upcoming works
• Reporting to the Project Manager on project issues where required.
• Organising daily planning in line with weekly plan to achieve targets.
• Provide guidance and training to your team with a shared knowledge approach.
• Carrying out prestart meetings and safe work plans to a high standard
• Ensuring team members are trained and competent before allocation of tasks on site. - remove
• Being solutions focused and ability to consider the bigger picture. – please include
• Uplift and inspire your team to meet our culture, encourage performance and development, while being able to -engage and have tough conversations around accountability.
• Overseeing management of all works on site to ensure compliance and best practice are adhered to.
Your ability to maintain up to date records daily from contract quality plans, pre-start meetings, toolboxes and daily reporting is essential. This is all completed using mobile technology, so a basic understanding and willingness to use apps and programs would be beneficial.
