Our local health sector is undergoing innovative expansion and modification with new public and private operating theatres and other facilities under construction. As an employee of Te Whatu Ora, the New Zealand national public health system, you will be part of a collaborative team within the head and neck service providing high quality care, improving equity and health outcomes for our local population, with a high Maori and Pasifika population.
The team is supported by a registrar, a house officer and a clinical speciality nurse and moving forward an additional registered nurse to support. The department is well equipped for all aspects of modern head and neck health care.

There are opportunities to develop subspecialist interests that will complement the department's current service. We also have close ties with allied health departments, other specialities that we interact with, as well as regional and tertiary services to provide a comprehensive package of care.
The department also provides medical education for undergraduate students and postgraduates.

Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital is situated in Hastings, New Zealand, a region of over 162,000 people. The hospital is a modern facility with a large range of surgical, medical, oncology and radiological services. As a Maxillofacial specialist you will be supported by a managerial structure invested in providing support for you and new technologies.

The possibilities for private practice are some of the best in New Zealand, with the current maxillofacial surgeon having a very large head and neck and skin referral base, along with a thriving dentoalveolar surgery practice.

Remuneration will consist of:

Qualification and experience step alignment with the ASMS MECA
On-call allowances
Employer matched Superannuation contributions of up to 6% of annual earnings
Relocation package including removal costs, flights, accommodation and car hire*
Reimbursement of: Annual Practicing Certificate costs

Medical Defence Assurance fees
College Membership Fees
Study and conference leave*

$1,000,000 Life/disability cover whilst travelling on company business as per company policy*
