Superior Industries Ltd manufactures a wide range of products from high tensile steel and specialty metals for different industries around New Zealand.
A full-time permanent position has come available for a production worker with mechanical and/or engineering experience looking to expand their career. Training will be provided in wire and spring manufacture.
We are looking for applicants with mechanical skills and engineering experience who are confident working in a steel factory doing all types of engineering production work. Experience operating machinery, work on production presses, fabricating steel, welding or assembling steel components is preferred.
If you are motivated, enjoy working in a team environment, have a good attitude and are punctual and reliable we want to hear from you. We are looking for applicants with engineering or mechanical experience with relevant industry qualifications.
Job requirements
• General steel production – pressing, stamping or punching steel
• Mechanical skills – power tool experience / strong mechanical aptitude
• Production manufacturing – product manufacture, process work
• Assembly work – product and component assembly
• Machining skills ie: linishing, drilling, grinding, punching
• Engineering experience – press work, steel cutting and processing
Skills and experience
• Steel fabrication, welding or maintenance experience
• Dispatch and warehousing work: pick and pack
• Stock management and quality control checks
• Ability to follow job specifications and read technical drawings
Key competencies
• Physically fit and strong
• Good communication skills
• Team player, reliable and trustworthy
• Well presented, enthusiastic and energetic
• Excellent hand eye co-ordination, attention to detail
• Follow company health and safety policy standards
Additional skills
• Current forklift license
• Welding certificate (MIG, TIG or Electric ARC)
Location: Central Lower Hutt
Own transport: Driver’s license and car preferred
Hours of work: 7.30am-4pm Monday to Friday
