Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and holds stewardship for equitable health outcomes for Māori as Tāngata Whenua as the highest priority.About the roleAchieving the best health outcomes for our patients starts with expecting the best from ourselves, and right now Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau is looking for a motivated Nurse Educator to join our Perioperative Services at the Whangarei Hospital.The Nurse Educator is responsible for promoting, facilitating, and providing clinical education to maximise healthcare delivery, enhance patient outcomes, and promote clinical excellence and evidence
 •  based professional nursing practice.The are 9 operating theatres.

You will be working on specialties including orthopaedics, general surgery, plastics, gynaecology, urology, trauma, maxillofacial, dental, ophthalmology and ENT.
Being a regional hospital, your patients will range in age from paediatric right through to geriatric.This is a varied role where no two days will feel the same
 •  whether it is providing on the floor clinical support to staff, training and development, or supporting developing group study days.

The educators also work closely with the tertiary training providers to showcase the perioperative environment.Jointly with the current Nurse Educator, you will be responsible for the facilitation of education for our Perioperative nursing team.

You will also work closely with the Nurse Manager and Associate Clinical Nurse Managers to develop and expand the current Perioperative Education programme and support clinical practice when required.This is a permanent 0.9 FTE role working 36 hours per week.Key Requirements Registered Nurse with a current Practicing CertificateAt least 7 years post registration experienceRelevant Postgraduate DiplomaClinical teaching experienceBenefits Attractive salary range $110,704
