We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our team to lead the year-end audit, and work with external advisors to ensure global tax compliance. This role requires technical expertise, working within a collaborative finance team.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract (parental leave cover) based in New Zealand. Our ideal candidate is based in Dunedin, however we are open to applications remotely across New Zealand.

What you will do:

 •  Financial Reporting – preparation of annual financial accounts
 •  Management of the group Audit process and any subsidiary audits required
 •  Assistance with preparation of tax calculations and ensuring all filings are done
 •  Providing expertise in relevant accounting standards
 •  Preparation of any accounting memos required
 •  Owning the Accounting policies and ensuring these are applied
 •  Design and implementation of systems and controls
 •  Relationship manager for our audit and tax partners
 •  Ownership of technical accounting items such as lease accounting and share schemes
 •  Balance sheet reviews

About you:

 •  Chartered Accountant qualification
 •  Audit experience, with a preference for candidates who have demonstrated proficiency in auditing practices
 •  Knowledge of internally generated intangible assets
 •  Proficiency in value in use valuation models
 •  Familiarity with acquisition accounting principles and practices
 •  Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively oversee and coordinate audit projects
 •  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex financial information to stakeholders
 •  Technical accounting expertise, including a deep understanding of accounting standards and regulations
