Growth phase, dynamic and exciting times - not in maintenance mode

 •  Holistic palliative care - clinical, spiritual, emotional and family support
 •  Incredible Board and passionate leadership team

About the organisation

In a growth phase, our client is driven by a clear vision and ambitious strategy to provide equitable, holistic and compassionate services.

The Board is invested in the future and their entire team is dynamic, courageous, and deeply committed to making a difference.

With a strong focus on equity, particularly for Maori, rural, and underserved communities; their operating model is shifting away from traditional inpatient focused services and prioritising on community based care. They are breaking down actual and perceived barriers.

About the job

This role was specifically carved out to lead a team of dedicated nurses in providing holistic palliative care services. Whilst there is an inpatient unit, the majority of services are delivered in the community.

You will play a pivotal part in driving operational excellence, implementing new initiatives, and supporting the team in delivering high quality care.

Nursing in this environment encompasses more than just the clinical - providing emotional, spiritual and family support is as important.

Key Responsibilities:

 •  Lead and manage a team of nurses, providing frontline operational management, coordination and support.
 •  Implement new directions and initiatives to improve processes, documentation, and templates, ensuring consistency and quality of care. Bed down structures, processes, policies, and systems
 •  Support the professional development of experienced palliative care nurses as well as those new to the service - providing mentorship and learning opportunities.
 •  Foster a positive and supportive team environment, a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

This is not a maintenance role. If you are looking to take your career and service delivery to the next level then this is an exciting time to join!

About you
 •  You will be a Registered Nurse with current APC
 •  Community nursing experience is essential - ideally palliative but this could also include aged care, district or home based nursing.
 •  You are a natural leader with the ability to implement and drive consistent change
 •  A calm, thoughtful and considered problem solver, you are able to navigate challenges and address issues with courage and empathy.
 •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - able to lead and motivate a dedicated team.
 •  Experience in mentoring and supporting the professional development of nursing staff.
 •  Commitment to delivering equitable, compassionate, patient-centered care and making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families.

What's in it for you
 •  This is not a relentless treadmill of a rushed work environment. You and your team are privileged to spend time with patients and families at a time in their lives when the little things make a difference
 •  Professional development and mentorship opportunities
 •  Opportunity to work with a passionate and dedicated team in a rewarding environment
 •  Competitive Salary
