About the role and who we are looking for:
We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Chefs to work at our Defence site at the Linton Military Camp café in Palmerston North. Hours of work are Permanent Full time, rostered across 7 days per week, including day and night shifts.
You will be responsible for:
• preparing, cooking and serving of meals and ensuring the quality of every dish we serve!
• be able to cook within budget
• assist with ordering and menu development
• ensuring the health and wellbeing of our customers through allergen and nutrition management.
Ideal skills and experience you will have:
• 2 years' experience working in a commercial kitchen catering for many people
• well experienced with short order cooking
• hold the relevant qualifications including food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167)
• the ability to lead and mentor a team as well
• the ability to work independently and confidently
• demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
